TINEE WAS THERE - Goat Play

Caught on camera: Goats goofing around!

TINEE WAS THERE - "Kidding" around with some goats.

While Tinee was playing with some goats. Someone posted a video on YouTube with some goats creating a new game!

Have you ever wondered what animals are doing when you’re not looking? Well, the answer was caught on video and it might surprise you.
Taped on what looks like a standard farm, the latest viral video shows goats displaying their impressive balancing skills on a flexible metal sheet. It’s kind of like surfing-meets-Cirque de Soleil. And the goats are accruing quite the fan base — the video was posted Monday on YouTube by user Max Murs and has already received nearly 1,000,000 views. Cats: Watch your back!
How these goats learned their amazing balancing act is still unknown. The only video description is the French sentence, “Pas de son désolé,” which translates to, “No sound, sorry.”

TINEE WAS THERE - Source of Stonehenge's Rocks Pinpointed

Source of Stonehenge's Rocks Pinpointed

AND IT RAISES QUESTIONS ABOUT HOW THE BLUESTONES GOT TO STONEHENGE

TINEE WAS THERE - whoa!!! - that was close!!!
(NEWSER) – For nine decades, it's been established that many of Stonehenge's smaller rocks hail from the Preseli Hills in Wales. Now, a newly published study says that we've been wrong about an outcrop that has been accepted as a specific source since 1923. And the new research, published in February's issue of Journal of Archaeological Science, suggests the rocks—known as bluestones, of which there are many types—may not have been transported there by humans at all. As head researcher Dr. Richard Bevins explains, in 1923, geologist H.H. Thomas identified Carn Meini as the source of spotted dolerite bluestones, but a new analysis of the rocks' chemical makeup has fingered Carn Goedog as the true home of at least 55% of those used at Stonehenge, reports Planet Earth.

TINEE WAS THERE - LAKE SUPERIOR ICE CAVES

The arctic weather in the Midwest has one perk: People can now visit the caves at Apostle Islands National Lakeshore in northern Wisconsin.
For the first time since 2009, Lake Superior has frozen over enough for visitors to walk on and see the sea caves, which are now called ice caves.

TINEE WAS THERE - Got Road Salt?

TINEE learned that the waves of snowstorms in much of the U.S. have exhausted supplies of rock salt, the main tool that road crews use to melt ice and snow.

While TINEE was searching for salt... She came across these beautiful salt mines in Romania at Slanic Prahova, you should check them out, they're amazing.

Now TINEE has to figure out how to get all of this salt back to the United States?

TINEE WAS THERE - In Honor of President's Day! MT. RUSHMORE

IN HONOR OF PRESIDENT'S DAY - TINEE WENT TO MT. RUSHMORE AND DISCOVERED A FEW INTERESTING FACTS

In honor of Presidents’ Day, we’ve compiled a brief history, in numbers, of Mount Rushmore:
1885: When the 5,275-foot mountain in South Dakota’s Black Hills was named for a New York lawyer—Charles E. Rushmore—who reportedly traveled west to verify some land titles and subsequently returned to the East Coast with a mountain named after him.
28: Date in December 1923 when Doane Robinson, South Dakota’s state historian at the time, floated his crazy idea to carve gigantic statues in the Black Hills.
1927: The year President Calvin Coolidge formally dedicated the future sculpture’s site, calling it “decidedly American in its conception, in its magnitude, in its meaning, and altogether worthy of our Country.”
150: The presidential likenesses, which are carved into the granite face of Mount Rushmore, are intended to represent the first 150 years of American history. Washington symbolizes our nation’s birth; Jefferson stands for our domestic expansion by way of the Louisiana Purchase; Lincoln embodies America’s preservation through the outcome of the Civil War; and Teddy Roosevelt depicts ongoing international development via the Panama Canal.
1: The noble visage of America’s first prez was also the first one Master Sculptor Gutzon Borglum set to work on.
10: Date in June 1933 when FDR issued an executive order to place Mount Rushmore under the National Park Service’s authority.
14: Number of years it took to complete the project.
450,000: Amount of granite, in tons, dynamited off of the peak to make way for the monument.
21: Length, in feet, of Washington’s nose (the other president’s noses run about a foot shorter).
18: Approximate breadth, in feet, of each pair of presidential lips.
60: Approximate height, in feet, of each presidential face.
989,992.32: Total cost, in dollars, of the historic project, including paychecks for hundreds of workers.
0: What it costs to enter Mount Rushmore, though there’s a small fee to park.
3: Approximate number, in millions, of tourists each year—a constituency anyone would envy.

TINEE WAS THERE - Buddhist Cave Temples

Buddhist Cave Temples Are Jaw-Droppingly Gorgeous

Datdawtaung Cave

After seeing these stunning Buddhist temples located inside caves, we want to drop everything that we are currently doing and visit them. TINEE did and found herself climbing.
The isolation of these sites serves to intensify the spiritual connection experienced by visitors. While some places of worship use architectural height to draw attention up to the heavens, these cave temples highlight the value of spiritual treasures that lie within.
